In 2019, Keenie's original song "Bring It On Back" was recorded by Sony/Provident artist Brennley Brown, a Season 12 finalist on NBC's The Voice. The song showcases Keenie's ability to craft stories that connect — a hallmark of her writing since she first picked up a pen on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. Raised on her grandparents' ranch on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, Keenie grew up surrounded by the sounds of rodeo, family, and wide-open sky. Her father Grady, a former PRCA steer wrestler, and her mother Kelli, a South Dakota Rodeo Hall of Fame All-Around Cowgirl, instilled a work ethic and storytelling tradition that carries through every song Keenie writes. That journey — from barrel racing to Nashville's Music Row — is a story still being written.
